I was encouraged to check out a teaching series on the priorities of our acts of devotion to God, which simply explains how serving others, loving the least of these is priority and how I should be leading my family in these things.  This was one of those teachings I really embraced and really desired to know how to carry this out as a family.  I sought the Lord and really wanted a great idea from Him.

The answer I received ended up being fairly simple. It’s just me, Sally and the kids heating up a bunch of burritos from the grocery store and the five of us going to the bus station, walking around and offering burritos, bottles of water and a choice of hot or mild hot sauce to them. Of course we offer Jesus cards and Bibles as well.

The Lord helping us find this avenue of service, we now call the Burrito Ministry, has really been fulfilling and a blessing for us.  We are working on keeping it as a consistent part of our family “devotion”

 Until next time…

I’m back! It has been a while. For the past couple of weeks Sally has been out of town.  I have been staying home and homeschooling Bronson & Kennedy.  Bronson is 11 and Kennedy is 9. Gabriel is in High School and I drop him off everyday.  While Sally was gone I had to take my youngest kids with me to drop of my oldest and to the Bus Station.  It was awesome having them join me.

In times past Gabriel has also joined me when ministering at the Bus Station, but there is an interesting dynamic having the two little ones with me. They carried the Jesus cards and I carried the Bibles, Bible pamphlets and Church invitations. It really was awesome watching the divine appointments and the three of us experiencing God’s work.  One of the more interesting situations was an individual who had some really specific financial needs. He has six kids and one on the way.  With our help, were able to connect him with some churches and other ministries to assist him with those specific needs. Praise God!  You can certainly keep him and his family in prayer. I think it’s really cool how the the kids get to watch the body of Christ at work.

This was an individual that I had talked to before at the bus station.  We shared a few awesome praise reports. He was glad to share what God has been doing with him. The church he is now faithfully attending, near downtown OKC, has been really helping him in various aspects of his life. We prayed together and enjoyed fellowship together with the Lord.

Hi there! Sorry it has been so long since I have talked to you.  I have been home with my family. My 3 kids and wife have been sick for more than a week and the Lord blessed me with being their caretaker.  I’m just now able to get out and about and hang out with my friends at the bus station.  This last Saturday morning was cold and I was able to give away a jacket and a few pairs of gloves to a few individuals.  One of the individuals I was giving gloves to was a girl. On my way to go get the gloves for her, someone runs after me needing my help. The help they needed was prayer.  It’s awesome when prayer is what they are needing.  They had some situations they wanted covered in prayer.  We prayed. We talked and it was really a blessing.

Once I got the gloves to the girl inside the bus station, I found her reading her Bible.  We talked and I was able to encourage her with the word of God, prayer and being reminded of God’s promises.  I also talked to a few more people but I spent most of my time talking to one individual who had a lot of questions.  I was blessed to have some answers for him and we were able to enjoy the presence of God at the bus station.  He shared a little riddle with me and said “Is there anything man made in the throne room of God in heaven?” The answer is, yes.  The scars on Jesus feet, hands, on his side and on his head. Wow.

God had so many awesome divine appointments lined up Today.  One gentleman shared with me how God has blessed him. He said he was the reason for making him clean and sober. He shared how the Lord also blessed his daughter.  Making her clean, sober and bringing her to Jesus! He was moved to tears as he shared this with me. I also ran into a lady that I’ve talked to before. I even supplied her with some Jesus cards because she loves to share Jesus with the folks that she runs into on the bus and at the bus station. We just talked and talked about God, the Word and other awesome divine truths.  May we all look for opportunities to be ambassadors of Christ

Being in Jesus and Jesus being in us. The running theme of the New Testament. This is a regular point of encouragement and today was no exception. After greeting a gentleman today he said to me, “sit down” and we enjoyed fellowship together for a while discussing different aspects of the Gospel.

I’m aware that many people are hungry for spiritual encouragement and it’s so nice to know that God has placed us in a position to talk to someone to give them that encouragement.

“This little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine” was a theme today at the bus station. I had the opportunity to encourage different groups of people to continue to shine. Letting them know that the Jesus that shines in them may be the only light that people around them see.  Wherever they might be going and whoever they might be touching.  I think that’s an encouragement for all of us to remember.  We are missionaries all day long. Everyday.

At the bus station , I usually approach people by saying, “Hello.  I’m interrupting folks today with the Jesus card; I give them away.” I ask them if they would like one.  I also let them know I have Bibles, Bible pamphlets, church invitations.  I say to them, “the Lord has miracles…so who needs a […]

At the bus station , I usually approach people by saying, “Hello.  I’m interrupting folks today with the Jesus card; I give them away.” I ask them if they would like one.  I also let them know I have Bibles, Bible pamphlets, church invitations.  I say to them, “the Lord has miracles…so who needs a miracle?!” After saying something like this to a gentleman today, he tells me that he’s a walking miracle.  He goes on to share all the different miracles that he has been blessed with throughout most of his life.  So we stood there together praising the Lord! Before he left to go catch his bus, he said he does have a tumor in his heart.  So we prayed for God to continue his miracle working power in his life!

I was also blessed to connect with a lot of different individuals. One connection was with a group of 3 that I got to pray with. We prayed for encouragement, provision and hope!

Today, while at the bust station, a guy shared with me about God’s calling on his life and some specific things God has been showing him. He really feels that this year God will give him the strength and resources to step out in faith to what God is calling him to do.

It is reassuring to know that we are not to feel the pressure and burden of being an Ambassador of Christ.  We are just a vessel.  He does all the work through us.

Wow! God has done so many awesome things since the last time I checked in. I will try to share some of the highlights. When I go to the bus station for outreach, I make a lot of little contacts with people that I can tell are significant. I usually share the encounters that stand out. Today it was interesting. I passed a group of about 6 gentleman that were speaking to each other. I felt led to turn around and go back and interrupt graciously and share. After talking for a little while with a few of the guys, it ended up being just me and one guy, who is living in a halfway house and who really needed encouragement and reassurance of God’s grace and love.  It’s wonderful knowing that we can be used by God to encourage someone in a significant way.

Until next time…
